Loading the SPP2000 with Obj’y Queries
We used the "syspic" utility on the Exemplar to monitor the utilization of the 64 nodes in a hypernode. Before running the tests, syspic showed activity on Nodes 4 and 5 of the "happy00" cluster.These are shown as green bars (user time).
We then started up 64 simultaneous Objectivity database query applications on the cluster. The syspic display shows the applications starting up (hence the red bars indicating predominantly kernel time).
Finally, after a few seconds, the syspic display shows full utilization of the spare CPUs by all the query applications (but notice that one CPU in Node 0 appears to be unallocated ... the reason for this is not known)
