Objectivity v5 Gripe and Woe Slide
V5 for HP/UX
- Fully paid up HP-UX license but no v5 from Objy … we got it from CERN
- A very poor release
- “oocheckls <-HP-host>” on HP causes lockserver crash on <-HP-host>
- “oocheckls <-host>” on non-HP causes crash of oocheckls
- Same atrocious behaviour for other utilities, and built applications
- Fixed by a “5.01” Patch … which we cannot get hold of !
- No support for old CC compiler
- We will be bringing these issues up (again) with our account manager ...
