Objectivity 4.0.2 installed on:
- Pentium Pro 200 MHz, running Windows/NT 4.0
- Pentium II 266 MHz, running Windows/NT 4.0 (by end June)
- HP Exemplar SPP2000, running SPP/UX 5.2
- HP 755 Workstation, running HP/UX 9.01(not tested)
Created federated databases on SPP and NT machines, checked locking mechanisms, communication paths.
Investigating issue of Exemplar having “only” 4 IP addresses (one per “hypernode” of 64 CPUs):
- Objectivity AMS and Lockserver bind to special ports
- Therefore cannot start more than 4 Obj’y servers on the SPP ? (But not actually tested …)
- One limit on the potential scaling tests
