CMSOO - Prototype LHC Reconstruction & Analysis

• CMS is changing to OO, but simulation and detector studies still FORTRAN-based.

• Some sub-detector OO prototypes exist for next round of studies, but without persistent objects.

• We have assembled a prototype LHC reconstruction and analysis package which can:

  • Read tracking and ECAL data from GEANT 3 simulations, digitize and reconstruct hits, and store the hits in an object database.
  • Reconstruct tracks and ECAL clusters, and use these to reconstruct electrons and photons
  • Display the event using the Java 3D API
  • Run on Windows NT or Sun
